Another Classy People House Success

Today I happily present to you a very classy idea! The bottle cozy. I made two of these wonders for my cousin. She is such an old lady that she wraps her water bottle with a paper towel to keep her hand and purse dry. I found a great pattern called Bier Hugguz on Ravelry (yeah free patterns!) and with some scrap peaches n creme I whipped up two of these babies while I was away at my training. These things are great! CPH highly recommends creating cozies for everything in the world.

September Scarves Day 4

What am I learning about my knitting after only four days of my self imposed knitting project? That I don't like too many UFOs. Four is a little too many for me. And I really don't like starting something new every single day. I just want to finish something! I think I will take the five project over to mom's on saturday and work one each of them and start a new project on Sunday. Maybe a hat, so modification of the project part two. A scarf a day on the weekdays, catchup day on Saturday and then a hat started on Sunday or maybe jus a new scarf on Sunday.

Also blogging every day is hard and most likely boring. So without further ado I present the Ribbed Keyhole Scarf! Knit in RHSS maroon and the neverending ball of blue yarn from the Origami Cardi. I was going for a collegiate look. I was thinking that the rib pattern reminds me of those old style seventies tube socks. I want to knit Sister an Eagles themed scarf that looks like a green and white tube sock. Retro and sporty. Maybe next week. Hmmmm.

Oh look what I can see from my window! The boss said he had them put that up for my birthday. Also note the strategic placement of Season 2 of Dexter in my WIP picture!

Here is my Ravelympic project for 2008. It is the Nordic Lights Caplet from Wrap Style. Knit in RHSS using scraps from many finished blankies. I wanted something small that matched all my winter clothes for work. It also needed to be washable and something tha t could be stuffed in my tote bag. This is a quick and fun knit but it does have tons of ends to weave in. Enjoy!

AHHHH! Metrosexual sweater vest I kicked your ass!

(that is what we say in my family when we do something better than half assed!)

N8's sweater vest is done. I finished blocking it on Sunday. I started on Saturday but it was wet and damp in Philadelphia that day. Man does wool smell nasty when it is wet. It looks so very sweet. I am so thrilled by how good it looks. I tried a new way of picking up stitches and they look flawless I must say. Overall the knit was fun and I learned how to do a v neck. Check out some photos.

On the mitten front I finished my first pair of adult sized mittens. They were huge but as we all know blocking is magic. The turned out pretty cool. I gave them to my Lolly who from what I heard from his mom was wearing them around the house on Sunday. Oh Lolly you are such a freak. Photos for the next post I promise.

I have started the Marsan Watchcap for my beloved. He nagged and nagged so now he will be forced to be the owner of my first misshappened hat. Enjoy! Seriously the hat is nice and I am sure it will look fine. *That's what my boys the Fratellis say!

On a similarly exciting note J and I went to Mitten Class at Rosies Yarn Cellar on Sunday and this malformation is my first mitten. How cool is that? Totally loving dpn's. I made three purple mittens this week alone. I am so sure I am one inch away from multi colored Norwegian mittens. Right after I finish N8s vest.
