A good ten years!

I had a whole long post written last week about my knitting and what I was planning to knit for the upcoming year and then J.R. started to get sick.  He was getting older and was starting to develop some medical issues.  He was unsteady on his feet and had some lumps on his lymph nodes.  We weren't sure if he had an infection or cancer so we had him on some antibiotics.  Things started to go down hill pretty fast and we realized that the antibiotics weren't helping him.   I wanted to think they were but he got worse fast.  By the middle of the week he started to go blind and stopped eating his dry food.  The boss switched him to wet food and we made him comfortable.  It was hard to watch but he was still going strong.  Then yesterday he woke me up at 6am.  He wasn't able to jump on the bed anymore so I went down on the floor and snuggled with him.  He was breathing labored but still wagging his tail.  So I walked him and he was so tired I had to carry him home.  He refused his food and laid down with the boss.  Finally when we were watching a movie and having lunch he just laid down and went to sleep.  He was a good dog and a fine knitwear model.

  3. Oh honey! I'm so sorry. But I do believe they will be waiting for us in heaven!!!!!!!! When you're ready to love another, you can adopt one and let him steal your heart away like J.R. obviously did! P.S.: I work with rescues, so check out www.petfinder.com ;o)
