My camera is fixed!

Back in May my camera broke at graduation. Since then I have been procrastinating on getting it fixed. I finally got scared that the warranty would expire and we would have to pay for the repair so I sent it out quickly at beginning of the month. Despite all my fear about the cost of repair it was free and only took five days to repair and ship it back. Thanks Samsung your customer service acutally rocks. So thanks to Samsung you can see a cavaclade of finished objects:

Just checking in

Not too much to report over at the Classy People House. Work is steady on the Big Ivy and the Striped Illusion. I am pretty stoked to start a new sweater for my mom. I think it might actually be my NaKniSweMo KAL project. I just ordered a copy of Classic British Knits by Madeline Weston. I fell in love with the fair isle vests and women's gansey cardigans in this book but put the idea out of my mind while I was in grad school. My mom asked me to make her a cardi and since I kinda like her I want to make her something awesome. Sister will consult on style and color and I will pick the yarn. I need to make sure it is something she will like the feel of not just something I want to knit with.

I really need to get some of my UFO's done. I still have Amelia's hat and fingerless mits, Jazzy's left mitten and scarf and a hat for Luke to get done. On more exciting news I am working on a new pattern. If you love mittens and who doesn't stay tuned!

September Scarves Day one

On September 1, 2008 I had every intention of getting up early and spending my day off putting a major dent into my Striped Illusion to kick off the month in style. Oh the best laid plans. First I had to spend the morning at the Lowe's looking for a coat rack that was wider than the old one to cover up the six inch wide holes I made trying to hang my new hooks. Long story summed up plastic molly bolts do not work. Then I bought a shelf for the kitchen to store food. The boss likes to buy in bulk but we don't have any place to store things. So that took the entire morning. Then I went to Aunt Kathy's for a barbeque so no progress was done on the new scarf.

So one day into my self created project I change the rules. Day one was spent working on the Big Ivy scarf poolside. Oh and my aunt's little rat terrier loves the scarf he was sleeping in when it was under the table. I made some good progress on that one. It was renamed the tube worm by my family. The Striped Illusion will be Day two's scarf I swear I have been working on it. Posting will be one day behind.

September Scarves or do I even have enough needles?

Ok so I have a nutty idea.
I am having trouble deciding what to knit next. I knit like crazy to finish my Ravelympics but still didn’t finish my Big Ivy which is depressing. Yesterday I started a very simple eyelet lace scarf using the sari yarn I bought at the XPN music festival which I knocked out today on the bus.
Scarf knitting is super easy to start and you see progress right away. That got me thinking about scarves. I love to knit scarves at least half a scarf. I usually get bored half way through and put it down for a week, month or year. So I got this great idea to start a new scarf every day. I will try to start a new scarf every day and work on it all day then snap it, blog it, label it and put it away till the weekend. Whatever doesn’t get finished in September gets picked back up in October on the day it was started.
Thirty one scarves in two months that should stave off boredom. That should get me a lot of presents for the holidays.
To start off this experiment I will begin with something from Knitting New Scarves! On Septemeber 1 I will start my September Scarf Project by knitting Striped Illusions with my super precious Shi Bui Knits Merino Kid in teal and orange I bought with my graduation gift cart at Rosies last month!

So this weekend I will plot a rough plan, pull out some yarn and figure out if I have enough needles for the project. Off to ravelry to queue up some scarves! Wish me luck.
